Downloading MP3 files

Clicking on one of our songs in MP3 format will most likely* start the download of the file to your hard drive. Before you play them, you must download and install an MP3 player. We recommend WinAmp.

*You may also need to to change the way your browser is configured so that it recognizes the MP3 file type. For Netscape, here's how:

Options> General Preferences> Helpers>Add New Type, and enter "audio" in the Mime Type field, enter "x-mpeg" in the Mime Sub Type field and "mp3" in the file extension box, then select "Save to Disk." Now when you attempt to download these files you should be prompted to provide a directory in which to save them.

Click here for more information about MP3 files and WinAmp.

Converting MP3 files to Wav files

If you are using Winamp to audition your MP3 files, you can easily convert them to Wav files to move them between programs and/or samplers. Right click on the Winamp interface and select Options>Preferences. Click on the Output tab and change the default output to ".WAV file output (Silent)" When you open MP3s now you will be prompted on a saving location for the WAV file. For further conversion between files types, we recommend Awave.

Winamp 2.0 has been released and some interface changes have been made but you still have the ability to convert your mp3s to Wav files: Under Options/Preferences change Output plugins to Nullsoft Diskwriter. Additionally you can click the configure button for a saving location.

Listening to RealAudio files

You must download and install the RealAudio 5.0 Player in order to listen to Full Blown Kirk's RA files. Once you have the player, RealAudio should* automatically play the songs you select.

*You may need to reconfigure your browser settings so that it recognizes the RealAudio format. For additional help with RealAudio please visit: The Real Audio Player 5.0 FAQ.

If you are using an older version of RealAudio you will need to upgrade to 5.0.

Viewing the VRML Gallery

You must download and then install a VRML viewer plug-in to see the VRML Gallery. We recommend SGI's Cosmo. Also, Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition come with a built in VRML viewer called that is decent. You can no longer get to our gallery from within our main site because frankly it is extremely outdated and never received the attention we would liked to have given it but if you are are dying to see what it looks like, you can get to it from our site map (click on the compass located on the bottom of most pages).

AOL Users

First, we're kind of surprised you can even see this. Second, we recommend you get a better provider! But, if you are stuck with AOL, make sure you are browsing with Internet Explorer or Netscape, and that you have the latest AOL software installed.
