Your still here?

Wondering what happened to fbk peeps?
Krista and Joe are hookin up the Akron hiphop
Jack Randall lives in sunny San Diego and still does music
Alison is a pro swing dancer and also lives in San Diego
Dave Braun creates visual art and plays drums in Akron
Dave Sterle still plays a badass bass in the Akron area
Ed Van der Kuil moved back to Holland with wife Tracy
Brett Lashua is working on his doctorate in Vancouver

The fbk site has remained online for several years now though the project hasn't released material or played live. Its such a pretty site though, and it would be pointless to take it down. Designer, Teresa Kiplinger created this back in 96 or so. It was the shit back then. See what shes onto now.

If you live in the Akron/Cleveland area and are still itching to see cool shit live, keep your eyes peeled for two acts called Low in the sky and Honeypot, composed of Krista and Joe from FBK and Pat, the drummer from Poets of Another Breed. We lay down the groove like nobody's buisness and fans and critics alike are turning heads.

Our sample archive is still fairly popular. If you are a sampling musician, check out some great free sounds here. We also have a new library of free loops created by Joe and Dave Graves at patternbased.com

Check out a remix of Sleepy Venus by drum&bass artist, Platelet. Hear the rest of Platelets stuff at mp3.com

If you live in the Cleveland area and are still itching to see FBK live, its probably not going to happen for a long time. Instead, keep your eyes peeled for a new act called Racermason, whos debut album was produced and co-written by Joe from FBK while he was a member of the act. This award winning CD can be purchased here. Show details will be on their web site.

Our sample archive has had over 100,000 hits. If you are a sampling musician, check out some great free sounds here.

Response to our music on mp3.com has been tremendous. Sleepy Venus is currently the number one song in our region out of thousands of songs and our mp3.com CD, Tel Aviv, is selling extremely well.

Zero Day can now be bought from local area record stores in addition to the web.

We have begun work on our next release and are very happy with the new sounds we are hearing. We are still undecided as to how many songs its going to be but so tuned for more info regarding that and some other interesting happenings in the FBK world.

People are inquiring about how to get a hold of FBK's new release, Zero Day. Though the information is on the merchandise page, we admit it might be a little too invisible so we will repeat it here. Send a check or money order for $12 if you live in the US or $15 if you live in Europe (contact us here if you live elsewhere) to:

Joe Minadeo
PO Box 3402
Kent, OH 44240

The first 100 people after April 1st who order the CD through the web site will also get a free copy of Faiza.

Some other noteworthy web happenings: You can order our music through mp3.com. It is an eight song CD for $7.99 called Tel Aviv and it contains material from both of our releases and a song that you can't get anywhere else. We have a new song on the charts at soundclick in the alternative section. Be sure to stop by and vote for it. Also the real audio files in our downloads section have been re-encoded to the G2 format. You will want to get the newest player for compatibility. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list.

Due to a limitation with our mailhost, we might have missed your message. If you have tried to contact FBK, Teresa Kiplinger, or the webmaster through the email links on this website within the last 5 months, there is a good chance we did not get it so please send it again. Sorry about that.

Yes, as a matter of fact, we did dissapear off the face of the planet but after our short trip across the galaxy, we are back and are completing our first full length CD entitled 'Zero Day'. We are pretty stoked for the release. We are going to be concentrating on studio techniques and working towards futher releases so chances are you will not see us playing out in the near future unless maybe you ask real nice. Look for a handful of new mp3s and some real audio material to show up soon as well as new sounds in the sample archive.

February, 1998
For those of you who might be wondering what happened to FBK at the Grog Shop on February 19th...GLU decided the club was too small and kicked us off of the bill. If you were one of the people who paid to see us, we apologize -- we were just as dissapointed as you. Don't worry, we should have a steady stream of shows coming up this spring.
